Hello Tweets,
Gene Hunn and I spent a good part of the day Saturday birding in the Renton-Kent-Auburn area. On S. 287th St. (in Auburn I believe, which turns west off the West Valley Hwy, south of the Smith Bros. Farms) we had a first year HARRIS'S SPARROW. The bird was mixing with a flock of Juncos about 300 meters onto S 287th St. near an abandoned rambler-style house on the north side of the street. Like others have already reported, we also had the PALM WARBLER at the Cedar River mouth park in Renton, mixing with the small flock of Yellow-rumped warblers in the alders on the east side of the river. A pair of Trumpeter swans were lounging at the NW corner of the intersection of 277th and the W. Valley Hwy.
Good birding,
Brien Meilleur
