Hi all,

Today marks the end of the long, but very exciting Fall reporting
period. Varigated Flycatcher, Hawaiian Petrel, Greater Pewee, and all
those eastern vagrants in Washtucna and other migrant traps make for
some terrific bold-print birds during this period. But keeping track of
the status and distribution of bird species in our area is not all about
the "megas". Unusual sightings including rare species for location,
early or late migrants, and high number counts are of great interest to us.

Tom Aversa(FieldNotes at wos.org) for WOS Field Notes would love to see
reports from any part of the state. Doug Schonewald
(dschone8 at donobi.net) and I keep tabs of unusual bird sightings for
North American Birds. Doug tallies birds east of the Cascade Crest and I
take care of the west-side.
