Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday October 2. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

The states first WOOD SANDPIPER is now being seen in the Fisher Unit of
Fern Ridge Reservoir. A male and female BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLERS are
being seen at Malheur NWR Headquarters. Another was at Frenchglen during the
week. A female MAGNOLIA WARBLER was seen September 30 at the Sodhouse Ranch
near Headquarters. On September 28 a WHITE-WINGED DOVE was photographed at
Yachats.

Good numbers of LAPLAND LONGSPURS are now scattered along the coast. The
conspicuous TURKEY VULTURE migration continues.

On September 26 two PALM WARBLERS were at Brookings. There is still about
100 ELEGANT TERNS at Gold Beach. A LARK SPARROW was seen September 29 along
Wireless Road near Astoria.

On September 27 a SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was at Ridgefield NWR. An
ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was on Oak Island on Sauvie Island September 29. A
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was photographed at the Tualatin NWR September 25.
Two MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES were seen September 25 in Eugene.

On September 27 a FRANKLIN?S GULL and three RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were at
Crane Prairie Reservoir.
