Tweets,

I spent most of the later morning and early afternoon winterizing and cleaning up the mess that the windstorm left. At about 11:00AM during a sun patch a group of 22 Turkey Vultures flying lazily and due south (towards Tiger Summit) flew over. They were high enough that I couldn't see if any of the birds were obvious hatch year birds. All day long skeins of Greater White Fronted Geese flew over, most calling loudly, I lost count at 12 groups and 147 birds. Another group of geese that were flying very very high passed over right at noon - they looked like Snow Geese to me, but I actually couldn't tell - their calls seemed different than the GFW's but that could just be distance and the canyon playing sound tricks.

I also had 3 Varied Thrushes and hundred or more Robins working the ground under the apple trees and a flock of Golden Crowned Kinglets, Bushtits, and BC and CB chickadees checking out the waterfall.

Cheers and good birding

Rob
