Interesting weekend on Whidbey - asided from the wind...

Resident eagles, band of common mergansers, all the locals...but the Coopers hawk just outside the window on a log, watching the tame/wild (released) rabbit "attack" the hawk just sitting on the log...the rabbit was fearless! It actually chased the hawk away! It jumped up in the air as if it were swatting at a fly! Wild America!

My husband saw godwits and not sure if willets or yellowlegs.

It's wonderful, just sitting inside, watching the birds on Useless Bay. Oh, also saw osprey and redtail hawk on the marsh, along with the heron and a hooded merganser...

Good bird weekend, for sure!
