Hello tweeties,

Birds in the News is back! This week's issue features a stunning image of a feral Red-crowned Amazon parrot, Amazona viridigenalis, that Joseph Kennedy photographed at Elizabeth Street Parrotry, Brownsville, Texas;

yesterday's mystery bird was a gorgeous male Redhead, Aytha americana;

today's not-a-tern mystery bird can be seen here;

also, Birdchat list co-owner, Dave Rintoul, sent a picture of one of the world's cutest birds (photographed in Scotland!) to share with everyone;

it has been suggested that i mix up the species instead of posting a series of species within the same genus, so i will be trying that approach for the next few weeks. a few more photographers are (generously!) contributing their images to this effort, so be ready to appreciate their contributions. if you have photographs to share, feedback or comments about this series, or the format, let me know either at this email or by commenting on my blog. incidentally, i plan to change the title of all archived mystery bird images to the species names within the next few days so you can review them at your leisure in the future.

cheers,

GrrlScientist
