good news! the endangered Rimatara lory, Vini kuhlii, is reproducing! As a lory breeder and researcher, I have been following the fate of these birds for many years, and am most pleased to tell you that the small group that was translocated from Rimatara to their historic home of Atiu in the Cook Islands is doing well;
