Hello Tweeters,
I tried my luck today for the A.Golden Plover.I got on M Street close to
3.30PM. I was than joined by three other birders. We saw NO A.Golden Plover
ore any Dowitchers, but we did had lot's of Killdeer,1 Least Sandpiper,2
Common Snipes ,many Pipit.I intend to staying to 5.00PM.I was not looking at
the times but every one left including me going to the next field over to
look in case there standing in the mud in the open fields, this where years
ago Patrick and I had Pacific Golden Plovers twice. There was nothing to
see, since I scoped the large fields. So returned to the other side, worked out
and still there was no A.Golden Plover or Dowitchers. So I walked all the way
to the end, locking to the left,You can see all the other wetlands.I found 18
Greater White fronted Geese, and the fields where loaded with more Killdeers
and Pipit's.When I looked back,I saw 4 Long-billed Dowitchers feeding fast
,I got real close, this 4 birds did not care me watching them,I looked for
the Plover by than it was already close to 6.00PM.I spotted the Plover
Amongst all the Killdeer.I did not bring my camera the second time around,I
could had real close photos of the American Golden Plover. No one mention to
going this far in to the field standing in front of the Emerald Down's
looking to the left.I also had probable 75 cackling Geese flying over.
The 4 Dowitchers where all Long- billed
The day ended good after all.
