*The Owl and The Woodpecker* ? Next Thursday at the Seattle REI

The public launch and slide presentation of my new book, *The Owl and The
Woodpecker: Encounters With North America's Most Iconic Birds* (The
Mountaineers Books 2008), will be at the* *Seattle REI on Thursday, October
23 at 7:00 pm.

Ted Williams, Editor-at-Large for *Audubon* Magazine, recently described my
