Today we had our first of the fall HERMIT THRUSH and
"slate-colored" DARK-EYED JUNCO at our place in western Skamania County.
A visit to Stevenson produced a pair of adult GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE
at the Rock Creek Fairgrounds Park where they have been seen the last
four years among the domestic geese. The difference this year is that
there are 7 immature plumaged birds with them. There were another flock
of 13 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE on the lawns in the town of North
Bonneville.
Above Bonneville Dam there were a pair of BUFFLEHEAD, the first
of the fall birds that I have seen this year.
