Thanks to all who responded with help on the dead bird ID.

The consensus is that it is most consistent with a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk.

The factors leading to this are the fact that there are no feathers down the leg to the feet and the sharp edged and coloration of the feathers.

Hopefully, I'll have better luck with a live Owl next time.
