The most recent mystery bird was not as challenging as I'd hoped, but it also did not generate as many comments as the typical mystery bird does, so you either knew the bird ID and didn't want to give it away, or you were so baffled you didn't want to add your comment thread. This mystery bird, courtesy of photographer Collin Jensen, was a Common Goldeneye, Bucephala clangula;

last but not least, this is the last video I've found that shows you a little portion of PBS's Nature program, Parrots of the Land of Oz. This clip features huge flocks of budgerigars doing formation flying (like shorebirds and starlings!), and also shows several species of stunningly colored rosellas and lories -- both of which I've bred in captivity;
