Tweeters: I just added a life bird to my list: Ross's Gull. It was
seen by Richard Hendrick and myself between noon and 12:30 today, Fri.,
Oct. 24. The bird was on the bouys behind Grand Coulee Dam. With it were
one Mew Gull, at least one Ring-billed Gull, as well as Herring Gulls.
The Ross' is very, very tiny. It had red legs, a small black bill, gray
wings and white tail. There were some black tips on the wings. It had a
largish black eye, with black smudge behind the eye. No smudge on the
body. I hope some others find this gull. Three or four of us are headed
there again tomorrow morning. Meredith Spencer, Bridgeport, Wash.
