Hi Tweeters:

I was at Dash Point State Park this noon with a friend on an absolutely beautiful day. We were busy chatting and I hadn't really paid any attention to about 8 or 10 birds in the edge of the water about 70 or 80 yards away from where we sat. Then I looked again in that direction and they were just beginning flight and were obviously not gulls, but from what I saw I'm guessing they were Snow Geese. They were pure white, had the flight characteristics of geese, and I could see a little bit of black in some of the wing tips. Didn't know they were down here this early. Also, in the flight that there was one bird that was a little darker than the others but it was so far away that I couldn't make out what it was, but assume it was some other kind of goose with them. I had no binocs so this was all with the naked eye.

Do Snow Geese get down here this time of the year?

Thanks,

Jim Brewster
