Hello all,

I've posted several photos of Craig and Judy's NORTHERN HAWK OWL to my website:

I headed out there during lunch between classes, and had a fantastic
time viewing the owl from 1:15-2:00pm. Wish I could have stayed
longer, as it was putting on a real show. I didn't even have my
telephoto lens with me, but Tom Munson was incredibly kind to let me
put my camera on his lens to grab a few shots. Lots of folks were
already out to see and photograph the bird and many more came later in
the afternoon after I headed back to class. Thanks to Craig for
getting the word out so fast and to Judy for her amazing find.

I also saw the 1997 Hawk Owl in Cheney. It was one of my most
memorable first birding experiences as I was only 7 at the time when my
dad took me out there to EWU to see it. Such a fantastic species.
Hopefully this one sticks around too! Others saw it catch 4 voles in
the afternoon, so I'd say there's a very good chance it will hang
around for a while.
