Following up on our amazing experience from last year, North Cascades
Institute will be offering a trip to Costa Rica, "Following the
Thread of Neotropical Migrants".
We?ll spend time in three areas in order to get an in-depth
perspective of each location. Accompanied by three naturalists (from
both Costa Rican and the Pacific Northwest) and following an
itinerary structured to take advantage of the numerous opportunities
available on the trip while still allowing individual freedom,
travelers will be able to decide how much birding or resting they
would like to do each day.
Trip dates are April 1-13, 2009. Tuition is $4750 and is all-
inclusive, including round-trip airfare from Seattle, shared
occupancy lodging in all destinations, meals, in-country ground
transportation, site entry fees and in-country guide. If you are
interested in North Cascades Institute's second annual Costa Rica
field excursion and would like to view slides or the trip itinerary,
please go to: http://www.ncascades.org/programs/seminars/costa_rica/
Take advantage of an opportunity to see Costa Rica through the eyes
of a native birder, arriving at a better understanding of neotropical
habitats and their importance to our own northwest ecology through
birds we have come to know and love. all levels are welcome.
"... I was amazed and inspired by Libby ? she has a wonderful gift
of teaching in a way that delights and inspires enthusiasm. She was
available non-stop throughout the trip, either fielding questions or
offering information, relating well with both novice birders and
professionals. She was able to link together information on birds,
habitat, politics, biology, botany ? all with good humor and evident
expertise." - 2008 participant
