Tweets,

Brien Meilleur and I pulled up on the corner of Newton and Maple in
Snoqualmie about 10 AM in the rain to find Ollie Oliver with his camera at
the ready having just seen the nuthatch. We shortly relocated it there and
watched it for 20 minutes or so as it scurried up and down the trunk of the
Sitka Spruce (not a fir as originally posted) in the yard on the ne corner
of that intersection, the exact tree Houston Flores photographed it in
yesterday afternoon. It appears to be a male (very solid black cap) and is
in fresh plumage, but did not vocalize for us. I'm not sure how to tell for
sure which subspecies it is.

We then headed on to the Boeing Ponds in Kent where we spotted the Great
Egret perched up on a cottonwood even before we got out of the car. It then
flew down and started feeding actively on some sort of wiggly small fish,
perhaps, in the main pond, visible from the dike along the east side. There
were also two Greater Yellowlegs at the Boeing Ponds.

Thanks for the prompt posting.
