Hey Tweeties,

I was sent this affecting series of images that I'd like you to see. This is a photoessay documenting the behavior of a pair of swallows. In this photoessay, you will see that one of the birds is mortally injured and is dying, but the bird's companion alternates between covering the injured bird with its wings and delivering food (water?) to the dying bird. eventually, the injured bird succumbs, but the healthy bird refuses to leave its dead companion's body.

I am most curious to know what you think about this series of images and welcome your comments in the comment thread of the blog, since other people might also chime in with their thoughts.

cheers,
