Hello, tweets.

Don't jump in your cars. This Arctic Tern was at Wanapum State Park,
south of Vantage, on September 17, 2006. There were several terns
flying over the river that I thought were Common Terns, and I was
tickled to see one perched on a rock at shore that allowed us to
photograph it. Not until many months later, while going through my
photos, did it dawn on me that the rock-perching one was in fact a
first-year Arctic Tern. Yesterday I visited the state park, and I got
to wondering how many records of Arctic Terns there were from
Kittitas County, so I checked the list of bird county records on the
WOS website and found that there are apparently no such records. So I
thought it was worth a (somewhat embarrassing) post.
