This morning I stumbled into a good migrant push along the Columbia River adjacent to Ridgefield NWR on Bachelor Is. This is an area that is accessible only by boat but I thought it was worth posting because it is the best fall migration day I have seen this year along the Columbia River. I had the two birds mentioned above and 12 black-throated gray, 3 Wilson's and two yellow warblers. Also 35 warbling vireos and one pacific-sloped flycatcher. I could not spend the time to really look around but I am happy with what I found.

Also while on the Refuge and on Bachelor Is. I also bumped into a barred owl. There have been reports last week of two barred owls on the Carty Unit which is also new to that location.
