I like to thank the CENTRAL AUDUBON ,THE TOWN of WASHTUCNA ,And You Randy to honor Patrick on such great Honor in PATRICK'S Memory.I will never forget the time Patrick introduced me to this small Town of Washtucna,being there many times before I ever saw this Town,I believe it was in the early 2000.I was not so impressed at first,he mention that this is THE TOWN to bird and find rare Warblers.We stayed in the Park and every time we met more and more of the Town People,I fell in love with Washtucna more and more.It than for me it was not so much the birds coming and going true town,it became personal.As people find out when I visit there one time after Patrick's passing,suggestion to me any time I like to move to a small friendly Town I am so welcome.Where can you find such nice gesture.I have such good feeling about this small Town and always cherish the time I spend so much time there with Patrick.
And thank you to all birders who visiting Washtucna.

This morning I helped complete a project with Central Basin Audubon and the Town of Washtucna (as their letterhead says, they are not a city!) When you visit Bassett Park there will be a new opportunity to sit and watch birds come down to drink from the stream running through the park. The bench was installed in memory of Patrick Sullivan as he and Ruth spent hours in their own chairs watching the activity there. Well, it paid off immediately. Just as Ron Van Nurden and I were getting comfortable I had to get up and chase down a warbler with big wingbars and an eye stripe. It eventually headed to the creek and stayed long enough for me to get one photo. My look wasn't definitive, but the photo said BLACKPOLL WARBLER. Also a Lincoln's Sparrow and a multitude of flycatchers although the only Empids I identified were Hammonds, Dusky and Gray.



Try the bench, it is really comfortable.
