Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 4. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A juvenile LITTLE BLUE HERON is now being seen at Bybee Lake in North
Portland. On August 30 a PHILADELPHIA VIREO was seen at Wilson Cady?s house
east of Washougal.

A WILLET was seen September 3 on the Necanicum River across from the Seaside
High School. On September 1 about 100 ELEGANT TERNS were at Gold Beach. Two
PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVERS were on the North Spit of Coos Bay August 29. Two
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were there the next day. On August 30 a RUFF was at
Bandon. A STILT SANDPIPER was there August 31. A BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was
on the Bayocean Spit on Tillamook Bay August 30.

On September 3 five BLACK SWIFTS were over Bybee Lake in North Portland.
Eleven WHITE PELICANS and one SNOW GOOSE was at Baskett Slough NWR September
1. An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was seen September 1 near Diamond Hill Road
south of Brownsville.

On August 30 an adult LONG-TAILED JAEGER, two COMMON TERNS, and an ARCTIC
TERN were at the John Day Dam on the Columbia River. On September 1 an adult
LONG-TAILED JAEGER, five COMMON TERNS, an ARCTIC TERN, and a SABINE?S GULL
were at Wickiup Reservoir south of Bend. On August 31 a COMMON TERN was at
Tumalo Reservoir west of Bend.
