4 September 2008 -Goose Rock-Deception Pass
We were hawking for 2 hours. At 11:45 a.m. was an immature male Goshawk in
hunting mode. This bird had a square- tip tail. The dorsal areas of the bird
were dark gray. The only other raptor was a Turkey Vulture. NOT seen were any
loons or cormorants; not one crow or Raven. No wood peckers, terns, robins,
flickers. We observed 6 G.W. Gulls, 1 Mourning Dove, 1 Rock Pigeon. Not one
warbler. And it was bright sun, no wind, and warm. Nelson Briefer
