Greetings All

Today David Irons and I were to meet Doug Schonewald at 7:30 at Washtucna. We got there early; birds were pouring through the park. David picked up a Bell's Vireo??that was nice enough to perch in a scrawny (alder?) next to a Warbling Vireo, Cassin's Vireo, and RC Kinglet in the open. Tail cocked and flipping about almost continuously. Looked much like last year's Skagit bird, and I suspect both are of the eastern race.

Anyway, the vireo and dozens of other birds started to move rapidly south through the park and disappeared, about 7:25. As Doug pulled up...

As Doug said, 5 minutes early and 5 minutes late.

We also had 2 Am Redstarts, 2 RE Vireos there.

At Potholes Res, about 10 Common Terns and 10 Forster's Tern each. There were 34 Sanderlings total, mostly near Perch Point and an Evening Grosbeak at Potholes St Pk.

Cheers
