Hi Tweets,
About 20 minutes ago I was walking on Roosevelt in Maple Leaf when an adult
Peregrine Falcon flew over me and landed on the cell tower on 89th and
Roosevelt. I didn't have my binos with me but luckily my neighbor was home and we
got out his binos and scope. The bird was preening on the tower most of the
time we were watching her. She was not banded and appeared to have some retained
juvenile scapulars. She sat on the tower for about 15 minutes and then
stooped on some pigeons across the street (albeit not very seriously) and flew
over my head. I believe she went and landed on the water tower near the
reservoir although my view was obscured by some large trees. A very gorgeous bird
(what Peregrine is not?)and a great look on a beautiful afternoon in Seattle!
