yesterday's mystery bird was a loggerhead shrike. thanks to everyone who contributed your comments and thoughts to the blog entry -- this is educational to my readers.

i have another mystery bird for you to look at .. it's a shorebird, but in alternate plumage, so it should be easy for most of you (I am guessing);
