Hey Tweeets,
took my lunch at the Thomas pond today (Kent valley, next to the ToySmith Building).
Some turn-over in birds since I was there last, 2 days ago. About 30 (!) Killdeer. Still 3 Wilson's Snipe. Good mix of Western and Least sandpipers. Still one Semi-palmated Sandpiper. But the Semi-palmated Plover was missing.
Just as I was about to pick up and leave, I made one more pass thru the birds. Pectoral Sandpiper! How I missed it the first time, I have NO idea. Got good looks, standing next to a Least. Then when I panned thru once more time, it was gone! Thing must have a Star Trek Cloaking device ....

Several small groups of Sandpipers broke away while I was there and flew to the West North-west, heading towards Smith Brothers. They did the same thing monday. Does anyone know of another pond in that general direction? They seem to be consistently flying out that direction ...
