Tweets,
Thursday morning I encountered large numbers of sparrows on Melville St
along the western fringe of Rock Prairie 3 mi W of Tenino (5 mi E of I-5
Grand Mound exit 88). Many/most of these birds were not present earlier in
the week.
- Chipping Sparrow (1 -- biggest surprise since breeders cleared out a month
or so ago)
- Lincoln's Sparrow (3-4, started showing up earlier in the week)
- Savannah Sparrow (several, previously very few around)
- White-crowned (many, probably included nesters)
- Song Sparrow
The WHITE-TAILED KITE was also again present (sorry, Jeff) in the snag fir
west of the tree farm plot. Good birding!
