Chestnut-backed Chickadees have started to appear and lots of Western Tanagers have been on the move in our area. Today the first W. Scrub jay of the year landed briefly on the tall spruce in our neighbors back yard. Not exactly a Variegated Flycatcher, but novel for Upper Rainier Beach.
