Today we were driving to Camino Island and dropped by Stanwood sewage
treatment ponds. We immediately noticed tall chain link fence gates being
installed. So we went into the area and politely asked someone that
appeared to be in charge - although we did not get a name - if we could bird
the area and were told birders were not welcome any longer.

Does anyone know what happened? Was there a change in management or an
incident?
