Fresh off their astonishing discovery of a Variegated Flycatcher last weekend, our dear birder friends Mike & MerryLynn Denny will be in Spokane this Saturday (9/13/08), for a book signing and release of a new bird book covering the Inland Northwest. Many of us Inlanders and Tweets have probably already spent some quality time birding with the Dennys in the field. If you haven't had an opportunity to meet the Dennys in the past, this Saturday afternoon will be the perfect venue to meet them and to purchase this exciting new book!

On this Saturday - September 13th - from 1:00-3:00 PM, the book signing will be held in Aunties Bookstore - 402 W. Main Ave - downtown Spokane. Published by Bob Morse, this pocket-size field guide is titled "Birds of the Inland Northwest and Northern Rockies" by Dave Trochlell, Harry Nehls and Mike Denny. With outstanding photos by western bird photographers (including local faves Michael Woodruff and Tom Munson), this book covers the 265 most common birds of the region (i.e. eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, Idaho and eastern Montana).
