This evening I took a walk out at Turnbull NWR near Cheney. As I left the parking area next to the Pine Lake loop trail, there was a Great Egret flying around the lake. It circled a few times then headed towards Cheever Lake. I made the trek out to Cheever Lake for the first time and found one more Great Egret out there. Also, on what is left of Cheever Lake, there were 2 female Bufflehead with some other ducks. The only shorebird present was a plethora of Killdeer.

I also flushed one Great Horned Owl out of a tree while heading towards the Cheever Lake trail/road. Yellow-rumped Warblers were quite common all over.
