I tried posting this to Tweeters last nite when I got back (late), but it's
not showing on site this morning. Think old subscription may have been
under our old email address. I wrote this observation on the Interp Center
log yesterday (Saturday) & called the birdbox just now (Sat morning) maybe
should still post to Tweeters now that (I think) I'm re-subscribed under
Karen's email address

I had a blue-gray gnatcatcher at 4:30PM Sat Sep 13th at the woods behind the
interpretive center at Ocean Shores, near the Marina. It was loosely
associated with a large feeding flock of chickadees/kinglets/wrens etc.
After spotting it I watched the feeder setup at the Center to see if it
might visit the birdbath there, but no luck on that. Just to rule out a
very unlikely Black-tailed or California Gnatcatcher, the tail was primarily
white underneath as it was flipping it around.

Also, walking the beach out to Damon Point I had maybe about 8 Bairds
Sandpipers on the lee side, and at the sewage treatment plant there was an
American Pipit and a Northern Phalarope. I walked right past the phalarope
initially, 2 other birders there (Sharon & ?) were kind enough to mention it
to me
