I'm sure there will be some nice reports from Lyons Ferry and Washtucna once the west-siders get back home, but I just wanted to mention a few birds that I observed at the two sites that others may have not seen. I birded with Matt Bartels, Jason Whitehead (first name may be wrong), and Rick and Tina Taylor today at the before mentioned sites. Ruth was just pulling out of Basset Park as I was parking. Here's the notables:

Lyons Ferry park:

Ruddy Duck (four of them)
Osprey (one hitting the water frequently)
Hairy Woodpecker (with a Downy for comparison)
Red-breasted Nuthatch
both Kinglets
Hermit Thrush
Varied Thrush
Bewick's Wren (singing)
Yellow Warbler
Townsend's Warbler (singing - at least two)
MacGillivray's Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Lincoln's Sparrow
Pine Siskin

Basset Park:

Hermit Thrush
Varied Thrush
Townsend's Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Western Tanager
(I missed a Lewis's Woodpecker seen by the others)

Lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers at both spots. Once again, not a full list of what I saw today, but most of the good ones.
