Hello Tweeties,

here's today's mystery bird for you to ID;

today's mystery bird should be easy for you after having read Rick Wright's extensive and detailed analysis of the previous two mystery birds. For reference, here are the links to those images and their accompanying analyses;

i also have a special treat for you, especially for my overseas birding pals. Courtesy of Rick Wright, tomorrow's mystery bird will be a European species -- and it's not a Calid! Despite this, Rick assures me this is not a difficult species and most of you should get it.

i also want to remind you that i will be in SEATTLE this upcoming weekend, to help Seed Media Group and ScienceBlogs celebrate their one millionth comment party -- this is quite an achievement since it shows that the public is very receptive to science! If you would like to enjoy a party with science- and bird-loving folks in Seattle and with free food and drink, please read more about it, and make plans to attend! i would LOVE to see you guys there!
