Subject: [Tweeters] Ibis at Othello

Went out to look for Sharp-tailed Sandpiper this morning at the potato ponds
but again couldn't get any pecs to morph into the right plumage. On one
brief relief from scope eye burnout I noticed a cormorant (hadn't seen one
for a few weeks) flying in with a bit more flap and glide than usual. As it
got closer it also got very slender and I realized I was looking at an ibis.
Most likely white-faced, but I'm not about to call this flyby to species.
It was headed south and would not turn in to land. I had not seen one
locally all year and this one was as late as I know of in E WA.
