Hi Everyone,

In my earlier post, I neglected to mention that there were four GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE at Sikes Lake on Sunday. They were in the (overgrazed) horse pasture at the west end of the lake that virtually always contains geese once the huge flock that winters at Carnation Farm (now Camp Korey) arrives.

At the 'Harris's Sparrow Spot' (from last winter) on 100th between West Snoqualmie Valley Road and Carnation Farm-Ames Lake Road, there was a large mixed flock of sparrows this morning. I had time for only a cursory search and came up with Lincoln's, White-crowned, Song and Savannah - nothing unusual. However, it seems that the sparrows really like this area, so it will be interesting to see if something unusual shows up again this winter. Unfortunately, the long gravel driveway along which the Harris's Sparrow was usually seen last winter has now been gated, so it will not be possible to walk the hedgerows along the driveway.
