Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 25. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A LAUGHING GULL was seen September 24 at Crane Prairie Lake south of Bend.
On September 18 a TENNESSEE WARBLER was at Fields. A BLACKPOLL WARBLER was
at Frenchglen September 21 and a BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER was there
September 24. On September 19 a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was at Hampton. A
PALM WARBLER was near Brothers September 21.

Noticeable movements of LEWIS?S WOODPECKERS, TURKEY VULTURES, AND
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were reported during the week. Over 15,000 VAUX?S SWIFTS
are now being seen at Chapman School in Portland. About 100,000 BARN
SWALLOWS were seen September 20 at their evening roost south of Dayton.
Extremely high numbers of birds are now at Lake Abert north of Lakeview.

On September 21 a FORSTER?S TERN was at Coos Bay. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was in
Seaside September 20. On September 21 a flock of 12 BRANT were over
Ridgefield NWR. There are now 44 WHITE PELICANS on Sauvie Island, and 283
GREAT EGRETS at Smith/Bybee Lake in North Portland. An early TUNDRA SWAN is
now at the Vanport Wetlands in North Portland. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was in
SW Portland September 24. On September 24 two STILT SANDPIPERS were at
Ankeny NWR. A STILT SANDPIPER and a LAPLAND LONGSPUR were at Fern Ridge
Reservoir September 18.

On September 18 an AMERICAN REDSTART was in Sawyer Park near Bend. A
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was in Bend September 22. A Parasitic Jaeger was in
Klamath Falls September 17. On September 21 a SANDERLING was at Malheur
Reservoir. On September 19 a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was near Riley. A STILT
SANDPIPER was at Chickahomeny Reservoir September 19.
