Hi Tweets and especially Adam,

A number of years ago (prob. around 10) I saw a whale I couldn't ID from
the Kingston-Edmonds ferry. It was along the western part of the crossing
and i had a good look at it as it came up, rolled its back up out of the water
and then dissapeared. A year or two later I described it to someone who
is very knowledgable about whales and he sugggested it might have been
a Minke Whale.

I looked at the photo Adam posted his link to and it is nearly a dead ringer
for the whale I saw, except that the whale I saw appeared quite a bit paler.
Perhaps individual variation or lighting might account for that difference
