Sunday, Sept 28, saw one Turkey Vulture while I was at NE 60th and 33 Ave NE in Seattle at 9:54 AM. Later that same day, I saw four Turkey Vultures flying in a southwesterly direction, then thermalling for about four minutes, then flying on. This was observed from NE 160 and 28 Ave NE in Shoreline at 5:31pm. I wondered why they were flying south-westerly, but figure they may have been going around the west side of Lake Washington.

Also, in my yard, I had a Red-Breasted Sapsucker sunbathing from within the protection of a weeping willow. Fortunately for me I saw, what I thought was a male hairy, it going up the trunk. I was able to watch it for about five-ten minutes (my arms got tired holding up the bins.
I also had more than 10 American Goldfinches at the feeders and bath. They and the House Finches were working the Madrona tree in the adjacent yard. The Madrona berries are just becoming ripe--I hope soon to start seeing cedar waxwings--I listened hard, but couldn't hear any. The 15 bushtits had me going for just a minute.
