Dear Tweeters,

I would like to share a few things about Patricia. She always said birding is what got her out of her wheelchair. She had serious health issues to deal with and at the last WOS (Washington Ornithology Society) Board meeting despite her pain and discomfort she was as involved and committed and passionate as ever. Her doctor had told her she had to reduce her stress and leaving the board was going to be a big disappointment I could tell even though she tried to not show it. She believed strongly in giving back what she had freely received via volunteering and in that regard we were soul sisters.

She was also actively involved in Seattle Audubon Society and became a Master Birder through their program. She also led a Book Club and accessible field trips.

One time I visited her house to pick up a raincoat I forgot and she told me the wonderful story of a Steller's Jay that had physical challenges that managed to overcome them enough to nest successfully in her yard. The jay also learned how to get at her feeder which was a bit of an obstacle course.

I will miss her greatly.
