I just returned from Hart pass where many were getting good looks at the Northern Hawk Owl. It was obvious that Khanh kept his promise to me last night of rubbing his Ivory-billed Woodpecker for luck for me - the Owl was perched within 20 feet of the road when I pulled up.

About 20 minutes after I arrived it flew off south in the direction of the camp-ground.

By the time I left, it had been relocated and people were getting good views via scope.

Hopefully, it will stick around so everyone that wants to see it will get a chance.

Thanks again to Khanh and Tom for sharing this great find.

I tried to scare up a few Boreal Chickadees but only could find some Mountain Chickadees, a Ruby-crowned Kinglet and a Red-breasted Nuthatch up toward Slate Peak.

Warm regards,
