Hello All,

Yesterday while visiting a landowner south of Walla Wallula I was shown a
pair of bins unlike any I have ever seen. He had just picked them up at an
optics show in Las Vagas. They were 8X42 roof prisms with what are called
"super poly-microfiber" lenses or SPMF lenses. These unique lenses are the
first of their type and will change all optics forever. Instead of one or
two single round pieces of finely ground glass in each tube of your standard
binoculars these new lenses are millions of micro fiber lenses stood on end
and pressed together to form a "unit" lens. They are clear, light absorbent
and the colors were amazing. The details you are able to see are mind
numbing. The first bird I looked at was a Say's Phoebe and it just about
looked like it was coming right at me. Its colors were subtle yet bright.
These bins are light as they are made out of poly-carbon resin and are water
proof. They are made by the "GNO-Group" and are at this time only available
in limited select markets. The pair I looked through were marked " GNO
Griffon S-5, 8 x 42, Stettin". So I would urge you to look for these GNO
bins. There has never been bins like these. Good luck!!
