Subject: [Tweeters] Sous-Anna fledges! On video!

Good morning Tweeters,

After receiving her last breakfast in bed this morning, young Sous-Anna has
graduated -- in the warmth of the just-risen sun, she took wing and has left
her nest.

And, entirely amazingly, I was lucky enough to have discovered the "movie"
switch on my little camera in time to capture Sous-Anna's inaugural flight
on video through the spotting scop. I am still astonished at all the things
that had to go right for this to happen: good side lighting, time of day,
happening to be by the window, her taking off facing just the right
direction, camera batteries functional, video clip length not too long for
my camera's memory, etc., etc.

Such are the graces of nature (and technology).

Sous-Anna's first fledging flight is on Flickr at
www.flickr.com/photos/21030079 at N06/. (You might want to turn off your sound
as you watch...there's a human hoot at the end...) Please raise a glass
sometime today (binocs count) to honor her (and her mom's) achievement!

Good birding to you,
A very happy
Trileigh
