Hi Tweets...My thanks to Randy and Elaine Hill for their posts, and to all
who continue to post here on Tweeters when birding in GH County. It makes my
"job" as county compiler so much easier. With my duties with the Master
Gardeners, GH Audubon and GH Shorebird Festival I spend a lot of time parked
inside at my computer (and don't get to actually go out birding very much).
Fortunately it is located next to a large window overlooking my back yard,
so I do get to do some form of birding every day.

I have been anxiously looking for the first American Goldfinch of the year
and today was the day! I can see six of my niger seed socks and on one sock
is a male in breeding plumage. He stands out like a sore thumb amidst all
the siskins....what a beautiful sight. The siskins are also all over my
Sitka Spruce trees...a healthy batch of cones is attracting them and both
kinds of kinglets. Now if I could just find the Brown Creeper I just know
has to be in there too!

I was also delighted to see that the nest box I hung just out of sight of my
computer desk has been chosen as a nesting site by a pair of Chestnut-backed
Chickadees...I love spring.
