Meg,
I guess that the ducks you saw are actually Blue Swedish ducks, also rather
rare domestic ducks and very similar in appearance to magpie ducks. For the
past several months, a pair of Blue Swedish has been hanging around the boat
launch ramp along the Cedar River trail.

Hi all,

There's a pair of magpie ducks hanging out in Renton down at the end of the
Cedar River Trail. I have no idea if they're a regular pair of visitors or
not, but they seem very keen on anyone with food. Wonder if they're looking
for a good home...I've read that magpie ducks are actually a rare farm
breed, so it was a bit of a double-take moment for me on my lunchtime run!
