Tweeters,

Sitting on the back deck, nursing a miserable cold and a double Dark 'N
Stormy (trademark Gosling's Black Seal Rum) in a tall glass, I spotted four
TURKEY VULTURES coasting north by northeast across the wetland at about
5:15pm.

A bit later, just after Junior hit his home run #399 as a Mariner, I saw
about 30 AMERICAN WIGEON flying very fast from west to east, and then with a
hairpin turn, back west. Weird. Why so quick? And with such a 180 in
direction? Could it have been the PEREGRINE FALCON (first this year)
chasing them? Guess that's why they used to be called "Duck Hawks."

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
