I walked the ring-dike trail on Sunday along with many other folks (busiest day I have ever seen at Nisqually). It was a beautiful day and I had the pleasure of observing an Orange-crowned warbler glean insects from alder catkins along the ring-dike trail. The bird did not sing, but its call clued me in that it wasn't just another Yellow-rumped warbler. My first neotropical warbler of the spring! Soon the morning air will be filled with warbler song.
