Subject: [Tweeters] Bully Bald Eagles vs. Osprey

This is the week that historically there are 3 to 4 Osprey hanging around
the Osprey nest at Purdy on the Burley Lagoon (Pierce County), deciding
amongst themselves who will get to use that prized nest where they were
probably all raised. Instead, there are two adult Bald Eagles perched on or
near the nest almost all the time since about 3 days after the first Osprey
arrived, and I haven't seen an Osprey in a week now. This nest is in a
sight line from the local heronry of 40 nests that was abandoned last spring
(and still abandoned). This pair of Eagles has a lot to answer for.
