I'll take the hot sauce, but make my serving crow-fu -- I'll still
have to eat a lot of it!
I gotta say, I'm getting a good record here --- several years back, I
id'd the park's first Western Screech-Owls.... as the park's first
N.Saw-whet Owls. At least for that one, I can blame darkness &
inexperience with the species. Such is life!

I think every one of us who was there looking at the owl [and it was
a very compliant Long-eared, allowing looks from all angles w/o
flushing for a really long time] had slight doubts but went with the
crowd & initial id.

Double kudos to Evan Houston for looking at the photos with an open mind --

With mouth full of crow-fu feathers,

Matt Bartels
Seattle, WA
